Rules

This competition is BJCP sanctioned and open to entrants 18 years and over for all classes except Class 11008 which is open to all ages.

The competition organisers are not responsible for mis-categorised entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged. All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations the day of the drop-off deadline.

All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).

Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.

Brewers may enter up to two entries in each class but may only enter one of each style.

The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on the quantity and quality of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style in which they were originally entered.

In the event of a tie for category placings the following algorithm will be used to determine the higher placed beer:

  • least variance between judges total scores,
  • average score for overall impression,
  • average score for flavour,
  • average score for aroma.

Spare entries may be collected 8th March 3.00pm from Tribe Breweries Hospitality Tent – Goulburn Showground, Braidwood Road. Exhibits not collected on Sunday must be collected from the VEOLIA ARENA Gate 4 Braidwood Road on Monday 9th March 9am to 5pm.
